From Hurtwood to the Bar

25/11/2022

This week we are proud to follow Amy Rumble’s journey from performing in the Hurtwood theatre to becoming a barrister

Amy left Hurtwood in 2013 with her sights set on becoming an actor, but it would be this love for the theatre that would set her career in law in motion.

After completing a Classical Acting course at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, she changed direction to combine her love of performance with her academic prowess. In order to become a barrister, Amy studied Law at the University of London and before long, she was shadowing a judge via the Bar Professional Training Course at BPP Law School. Known for her talent in ‘Mock Court’ competitions, it’s here where her theatrical prowess shone through.

Amy now works as a fully-fledged barrister specialising in Employment Law, Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury. Amy’s story is a perfect example of how a love of theatre nurtured at Hurtwood can lead to many exciting and rewarding career paths.

Stay tuned for more alumni stories coming soon.
