Parents are entrusting us with their children's lives. There is no greater responsibility in the world.
At Hurtwood we look after the children as if they were our own. This is a family-run school, not a large impersonal institution.
Now, 50 years later, the Summer School is run by the third generation of the Jackson family. Harvey Jackson, grandson of the founder Richard, is the Course Director and as a family, we have created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.
At Hurtwood we take extra-special care of our younger children. We employ three extra staff whose only responsibility is to provide extra care for the younger ones. The assistants help with washing clothes, making phone calls home and escorting them around their favourite shops in Guildford, Windsor, Brighton, London or anywhere else we go.
Obviously we all take great care of everyone, but it is reassuring to know that our younger guests receive even better care. We employ one member of staff for every five children and all the staff are residential and sleep in the same corridors as the children.
We have a beautiful country house set in hundreds of acres of stunning countryside. This is a very safe place to send your children.
