Watch Hurtwood alumna Carlotta Banat in ITV’s new crime drama ‘Winter’, alongside Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey. The six-part series follows Dr Ethan Winter, a brilliant but unconventional forensic pathologist, as he tries to solve a series of complex murder cases. Carlotta plays Simone Edwards (the pivotal dead fiancée) who is a key figure from Ethan’s past and whose story lies at the heart of the mystery running throughout the series. As the drama unfolds, Winter is determined to discover the truth about what happened to Simone. According to the Guardian the dead fiancée plot is 'gripping and Winter's production values are uncommonly high: the direction, soundtrack and lighting conspiring to paint Bristol as a glowering storm cloud of polo necked pain and longing.’
At Hurtwood Carlotta was rarely off stage. She was a prominent member of the Hurtwood Acting Company, performed in the musicals and concerts and played Juliet in Hurtwood’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. She continued her professional training at LAMDA, where her stage roles included productions of ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ and ‘The Merchant of Venice’. Since graduating, Carlotta has already had an impressive screen career and her credits include ‘Grantchester’, ‘FBI: International’, Amazon Prime’s ‘Fifteen-Love’ and Netflix’s ‘3 Body Problem’, as well as appearing in the 2025 action comedy ‘Heads of State’, starring Idris Elba and John Cena.
