We’re thrilled to introduce our new Media and Filmmaking Summer School — a one-week residential course running from Sunday 27th July to Saturday 2nd August.
Media and Filmmaking is one of Hurtwood's great strengths, and it would be fair to say that Hurtwood is the number one school in the UK for Media. In fact, our students achieved the highest mark in the world for Media A Level in both 2023 and 2024.
Designed for young creatives aged 14–18, this course is perfect for students aspiring to a career in the media industry. Participants will be taught by industry professionals and gain hands-on experience working with professional cameras, editing software, and in studio environments.
Check out this video for a flavour of what’s on offer:

Over the course of the week, students will create a TV show, direct a music video, and produce scripted sequences. They'll also explore content creation for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Each student will leave with real media projects to add to their portfolio and have the chance to connect with other like-minded young creatives.
We’re also offering exclusive trips to the cinema and Harry Potter Studio Tour for a bit of fun and inspiration to round out the week!
