When Hurtwood's Headmaster Cosmo Jackson and his wife Tina, Head of Admissions, strolled up the red carpet at G Live for the major Surrey Awards dinner they were just hoping for a wonderful evening. They knew that Hurtwood had been nominated for the 'Best School' award and were extremely pleased with the honour. The competition was fierce with the  nominations including  the absolute cream of Surrey's schools such as Charterhouse, St George's  and Epsom College. Clearly Hurtwood's blend of creative excellence and academic rigour struck a chord with the public judges and Cosmo and Tina were invited on stage to receive the prestigious award. Hurtwood was founded 55 years ago in 1970 by Cosmo's father Richard and it was a very special moment for them to be able to bring home the award to him.
