To book tickets, please send an e-mail to boxoffice@hurtwood.net A word of warning – each year, it would appear that a number of e-mails requesting tickets for the musical are rejected by our spam filters and naturally enough never receive a response. By and large these are e-mails sent from ipads and iphones (although plenty of emails from ipads and iphones do get through – certainly very confusing for us all!).
To avoid confusion, the Box Office has promised to reply to all requests for tickets within 48 hours (perhaps 72 hours over the weekend), and therefore if you have not had a timely response, please do assume the worst and try to make contact again.
Hurtwood House Presents......
It seems appropriate in our 50th year to stage a classic British musical! Set in the late 1930s, ‘Me & My Girl’ tells the story of an unapologetically, unrefined cockney named Bill Snibson. Bill discovers that he is in fact the 14th heir to the Earl of Hurtwood (!) and is summoned to the late earl’s estate to assume his destiny as a nobleman. However, Bill will have none of it, especially since it involves ditching the equally unrefined love of his life, Sally.
This uproarious, much-loved musical comedy includes the enormously popular numbers ‘The Sun Has Got His Hat On’ and ‘The Lambeth Walk.’ The revised version, by Stephen Fry and Mike Ockrent, also featuring ‘Leaning on a Lamppost,’ won the 1985 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical and was recently revived at Chichester Festival Theatre.
