The crown jewels of this range are our mountaineering expeditions in North Wales. These challenging trips offer our students a unique opportunity to experience mountain sports under safe supervision. The trips, although physically challenging, are enormous fun. They will also teach you survival skills, navigation and map reading skills, self-reliance as well as the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in Britain.
All outdoor pursuits are taught be experienced staff who hold all the nationally recognised qualifications.
Our Head of Outdoor Education is Dave Fonseka. Dave has climbed, trekked and cycled in some of the world’s most testing and inhospitable environments including the glaciers of Eastern Greenland, the Tien Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan, Mount Kenya, Mt Denali National Park, The High Atlas mountains, the Negev, Sahara and Tarka Malan Deserts. Dave is also a keen Alpinist and has over 20 year’s experience of organising challenging expeditions in the UK and Europe. He has a talent and passion for encouraging students to experience adventure and learning through doing.
