Spotlight on Acting Company

Ezra, who trained at Le Coq Theatre School in Paris, has run Hurtwood’s Acting Company for 17 years and during this time has produced some of the most memorable of Hurtwood productions. The plays have been extremely diverse - Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’, Sarah Kane’s ‘4.48 Psychosis’ and Jean Genet’s ‘The Balcony’ to name but a few. Last year Ezra directed ‘Country Music’ by Simon Stephens and ‘The Women of Lockerbie’ by Deborah Brevoort and this year...

Hurtwood Hits the Big Apple

Hurtwood Theatre department’s trip to New York was non-stop action. Straight from the plane, bags dropped at the Paramount Hotel, everyone headed to Ellen’s Stardust Diner for a full-on singalong supper - subtlety was never the plan!   Throughout the trip there was a myriad of fabulous opportunities for the students. On the first day there were workshops at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York Vocal Coaching and Broadway Dance. The afternoon saw a visit to the Museum of Musical Theatre and the opportunity to take in the breathtaking views from the Edge skyscraper.

Media Magic in LA: Hurtwood takes on Hollywood

Over the Easter holidays our Media Department took the students to Los Angeles on a trip designed to be the perfect blend of industry insight and hands-on experience.  The students toured Warner Bros. Studios and at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, they gained valuable insight into the inner workings of the film industry.
