THE RESIDENTIAL INTENSIVE VOCAL AND SINGING TRAINING COURSE

Are you serious about singing? Interested in performance? Want to go to drama school and work with professionals from the industry who you will give you a real insight into what training to be a musical theatre actor is like? Then this is the summer school for you.

In addition to the highly successful 1 Week Residential Musical Theatre Course, Hurtwood House is now offering specialist tuition and masterclasses in vocal technique and performance. Set in the luxurious grounds of Cornhill Manor, this 1 Week, Residential singing course is designed to both improve awareness of the voice, develop confidence and vocal technique to support singers in performance.

The voice is the primary instrument for any performer and therefore specialist tuition and coaching on how to improve your singing is paramount for anyone serious about a singing career or life in the Performing Arts. This is primarily a course designed for 15-18 years old who are serious about singing.

The course will cover areas such as:

• Masterclass in vocal technique - developing and improving the voice for performance

• Exploring the ‘primal voice’

• Accent work for actors and singers

• Close Harmony work / Group singing

• Solo singing

• Exploring / finding / developing suitable audition material

• How to apply vocal technique to different musical styles

• Individual singing tutorials for bespoke attention and vocal audit

• Acting through song

• Working through bad habits / Audition technique / Song presentation / drama school preparation

• Recording tracks and working with mics

 

The course is led by three performing arts specialists who each bring with them a range of skills that make them experts in their chosen area. All three teachers have and continue to work in many of the leading UK Drama Schools. They have also worked as performers and creatives in a professional capacity.
